VISION
3D rendering and visualization have seen a number of changes in its evolutionary cycle. What you generally see is sterile and devoid of life. Technology has allowed us to achieve near perfection through procedural processes and computer horsepower. For some, photo-realistic rendering has become a very technical process.
The missing element is an artistic and creative interpretation, which is what is required to captivate the imagination and not let the viewer be distracted by the details. How you weave the visual story together and move the camera through the space is an integral part of engaging the viewer.
Spend less time flying through and more time on human interactions within the space gives the viewer a more realistic experience. Go beyond the lens flare and give them the “AH-HAH!” moment.
These methods can also be used to excite and inform the process of design.
Achieving a lasting impact is as much about artistic expression as it is about mastering the software and understanding the hardware limitations that lead to technical difficulties and lifeless results.
I feel that based on my artistic and technical background coupled with a history in the entertainment industry puts me in a unique position to help accelerate our vision in these exciting times.
FOUNDATION
Before graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute, my career began at Hallmark Cards as a paid intern helping to establish its virtual retail technology program.
While pursuing my BFA degree in design at KCAI, Hallmark allowed me to work after hours to utilize its large arrays of computers to help create and render a story based computer game, I entitled Kepler.
The game’s purpose was to immerse the participant into a thematic environment and allow opportunities for education through interactive exploration.
Based on this early interactive work, I immediately began working with Engineering Animation, Inc. as an animator developing scenic concepts and designs on several widely acclaimed interactive software titles for Hasbro, Disney and the Discovery Channel.
During my tenure at PopTop Software, I worked as lead animator and cinematic artist for several best-selling interactive software titles. My work has appeared in numerous magazines, and my thematic illustrations have been published in the book Elemental 2, The World’s Best Autodesk Art.
In 2005, I founded Moh.Visuals, Inc., a unique award-winning 3D visualization and animation company, transforming ideas into engaging visual experiences. In the near future, 3D will enter an interactive
real-time experience. As a business, we have already begun taking steps in that direction and have won awards in the area of Augmented Reality.
While my team is small, the overall goal has always been to exceed client expectations and to create the unexpected. Experience has been my guide in arriving at those results.
Today I work with PGAV helping lead our 3D Visualization initiative.

I’ve been accused of holding out with very high-standards amongst my peers… which means I’m conservative in giving out recommendations. With Steve, I’m honored to recommend his degree of quality and attention to detail which I’ve come to rely on for many of our projects. He takes our initial concepts and brings them to life surpassing any expectations we might have had. Our clients always have compliments to share about his work. He’s great at keeping you in the loop throughout the process and manages the deliverable(s) within the parameters you have to work within (time & budget) – resourcefulness is a huge asset in today’s industry; Steve balances resourcefulness with a tremendous amount of talent.

Exceptional creative talent is hard to find. Finding someone who can deliver high quality video animation within challenging timeframes is even harder. I have worked with Steve on several projects and I continue to be impressed with his skills and appreciate the additional technical support that he provides. Steve is a pleasure to work with and I hope that I have the opportunity to collaborate with him on future projects.
